President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Echols joined Highland Associates in September of 2014 as the firm’s President and Chief Executive Officer. He is the Chair of the firm’s Leadership Working Group. He has extensive experience in the financial services industry, which includes corporate cash management, private banking, commercial finance, investment banking, corporate banking, and investment management. Prior to joining Highland Associates, he served as Head of Business Development for Deloitte Corporate Finance (formerly known as McColl Partners) in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he led deal sourcing and strategic growth services. Before joining Deloitte, he spent twelve years with Merrill Lynch and Bank of America, where he held leadership roles in Private Lending and Structured Credit, Commercial & Securities Based Lending in Chicago, Illinois. He is a native of Birmingham, Alabama, and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Birmingham-Southern College.
